History

This helicopter was manufactured by Bell Helicopters in 1967 and was one of the first JetRangers delivered to the civil market.

This helicopter has undergone over the last 5 years the most extensive re-furbishment possible, the whole of the airframe has practically been re-manufactured and is in an absolutely brand new condition. An amount of over 3000 man hours has been spent on this airframe including possibly the most prestigious re-spray inside and out. The paint system is in a clear over base product with multi layers of clear lacquer coatings.

S/N 12 has been fitted with an Allison C20B Engine.

A lot of time and attention was spent to ensure the doors fitted like a glove, even in new helicopters it is common to get the wind entering into the helicopter through ill fitting doors and seals, these doors open and close and fit as you would expect a new car door would.

The avionics are the latest Garmin products available including a multi function GNS 530 AND a GNS 430 coupled to a King KCS 55a H.S.I. The transponder is a digital Garmin GTX 327 and the Audio Panel is a Garmin GMA 340.

The instrument panel has been rebuilt but retained in the same style to reflect its originality; all instruments have either been renewed or overhauled.

Most of the rotable components have either been renewed or overhauled.

The interior is possibly the most luxurious ever installed in a JetRanger, the quality of the leather and carpets is un-surpassed and must be seen to be appreciated, the seats are in a cream Connelly leather piped with a high quality dark blue leather trim, the new carpets are in a thick wool beige colour and are protected by transparent Cabin Floor Protectors.

All windows of course are brand new with a slight blue tint.

This is possibly the oldest Bell JetRanger flying in the world, it is certainly the most unique and is a wonderful advertisement for Bell Helicopters. The JetRanger enjoys the reputation of having the record for being the ‘safest aircraft’ in the world.

Such a restoration of a JetRanger may never be repeated and this is a once only opportunity to own a helicopter which will certainly enjoy a place in history.

This helicopter can be offered with a new FAA Annual or a new British Certificate of Airworthiness.

Interested parties are welcome to view this helicopter at our facility.
